Business Setup

Set the business up right the first time

Structure, registration and financial groundwork for establishing in the UAE — so the decisions you make at the start do not become expensive to unwind later.

The need

The structure you choose at the start shapes everything that follows

Jurisdiction, legal form, ownership structure and activity selection determine your tax position, your banking options and the compliance you carry from day one. These are choices that are easy to make quickly and expensive to reverse. We work through them with you from a financial and compliance perspective, before anything is filed.

What we handle

Structure advisory

Mainland, Free Zone or offshore — assessed against how you actually intend to operate.

Activity & licensing guidance

Choosing activities that match the business and do not constrain it later.

Registration coordination

Coordinating the formation process with the relevant authorities and service providers.

Tax registration

Corporate Tax and, where applicable, VAT registration handled correctly at the outset.

Banking preparation

Preparing the documentation and financial profile that banks will expect to see.

Accounting foundation

Chart of accounts, systems and record-keeping established from day one.

Situations we are often called in for

  • You are entering the UAE market and are unsure which jurisdiction fits.
  • You have been advised to set up somewhere and want an independent view first.
  • You are restructuring an existing business or adding another entity.
  • A previous setup no longer matches how the business actually operates.
  • You want the accounting and tax side handled alongside formation, not after it.

Who it is for

Founders and international businesses establishing in the UAE, existing companies adding entities or restructuring, and investors who want the financial and compliance implications assessed before committing.

Our process

  • Discuss — understand your activity, ownership, customers and plans.
  • Advise — compare the realistic structuring options and what each one implies.
  • Coordinate — manage the formation process and the registrations that follow.
  • Establish — put the accounting, tax and record-keeping foundation in place.

Business Setup FAQs

Do you issue trade licences?

No. Licences are issued by the relevant licensing authority. Our role is advisory and coordinating: we help you choose the right structure, prepare what is required, and work with the relevant authorities and formation agents so the process runs properly and the financial consequences are understood before you commit.

Mainland or Free Zone?

It depends on where your customers are, what activity you carry out, your ownership and your tax position. There is no universally better answer, and we would be cautious of anyone who offers one before asking about your business.

Can you help after the company is already formed?

Yes. A meaningful part of this work is corrective — businesses that were set up quickly and later find the structure, activities or registrations do not match what they actually do.

When do we need to register for Corporate Tax and VAT?

Registration obligations depend on your specific circumstances and on the current Federal Tax Authority requirements. We assess your position and confirm the applicable requirements with you rather than applying a rule of thumb.
